The creation of a spatial module derived from two-dimensional patterns of concentric quarter circles informs the design language. The spaces between these arcs manifest themselves as stepped surfaces in the module. The configuration of modules in different patterns results in the terraced steps that provoke different forms of occupancy, ranging from passive observation to engaged conversation. The various occupational potentials of these forms is utilized in the chosen site, Harvard Square, where the analysis of the movement and traffic of trains, cars, cyclists, and pedestrians demonstrates the necessity of a place for people to just congregate and rest.
