Erosion and Emergence: A Beach Pavilion

This site intervention at South Beach on Martha’s Vineyard seeks to mitigate further erosion as well as facilitate movement through new gathering spaces. Drawing from the triangulated geometry and implied surface patterning I have explored throughout the semester I developed a system of architectural objects that are interconnected in their geometric form but separated in their functionality. A pavilion and mixed-use space, new changing stalls, restrooms, a new walkway, benches, a bike rack and artificial dunes set into the landscape all work together to revitalize this site and propose an architectural solution to the topographical conditions of the site.
