Between Drawing and Space

This project is a study in the optical use of patterns to produce varied readings in depth. From 2D to 3D, abstractions via overlays of flat patterns and straight hatches deploy readings of surprisingly deep and circular figures. For inhabitation, pattern hatches become physical, walkable, and material. A centralized cone produces a forced perspective and offers a scale for occupation, lounging, and gazing. Transparency surrounds an area of rest, acting as an intermediary between thecentral void of the center and the expanse of the exterior, creating a visual overlay of the inhabitable spaces and physical patterns.
